New look lounge ahead

A refurbishment of the lounge at Adullam’s Chorley Old Road project in Bolton is one of many positive outcomes from a national Coproduction Week organised and promoted throughout the Association last week.

Residents at the hostel enjoyed a busy week which included art sessions, a cookery class, a high adrenaline visit to a climbing centre and plenty of discussion about both local and national offers.

Useful comments were made about repairs, agreements about residents entering each other’s rooms, spending time with staff and activities they enjoy. Feedback to help with rent-setting was also given.

Bolton Bridges Operations and Property Services Manager Dawn Thornber said all the residents enjoyed baking with David from Adullam Social Enterprises and said they would love to learn more about cooking. They also felt the art they created helped their rooms look nicer.

One of the most popular requests was for the refurbishment of the lounge and staff working with residents are now planning a makeover.

As well as discussing paint colours and features, as part of the lounge renovation coproduction work staff are also looking into ways of helping to get a TV and even a pool table which residents said they would “love to have”.

When the work is complete, partners, stakeholders and donors will be invited to an open day at the project where they will be able to talk with residents and team members to learn more about the support provided and see how the project operates.
