Our Orange Champion

Our Bolton projects have turned orange today as part of a campaign to raise awareness of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.

Staff from Muamba House, including Dawn Thornber, dressed in orange.

Property Services and Operational Manager Dawn Thornber was granted Orange Champion status at the She Inspires awards last year where she was a finalist in two categories. Just 12 of the 500 women attending the awards were named as Orange Champions, in recognition of work they had done to support and inspire women.

The She Inspires Foundation CIC is running a year-long campaign ‘We are Orange 365’ whereby the a day each month is recognised as an Orange Day by the ‘UNiTE by 2030 to End Violence against Women’ campaign.

Staff at Dawn’s projects are dressed in orange and making as much use as possible of the colour. Images are being shared across organisation, project, and personal social media accounts alongside facts about violence against women and girls.

Dawn is well-placed for her voluntary role, often having women in her projects that have been affected by abuse and violence and working with her teams to increase the women’s confidence, helping them go on to live safe, independent lives.

Dawn and Adullam as a whole urge everyone to raise awareness that abuse and violence should not be tolerated, to encourage reporting, and to work to empower women and girls.
