Merseyside Resident Involvement Day

The resident involvement day took place at Princes Avenue and the theme was “Beating the Credit Crunch”.

We invited the Citizens Advice Bureau. The residents have been encouraged to arrange appointments to discuss any issues that needed to be looked at eg debt advice and managing finances. Liverpool City Council also attended, who gave out information regarding recycling and free gifts made from recycled materials. Mersey Travel gave out leaflets regarding cheaper fares and discounts which the residents found really useful. Other agencies that attended included Together Women’s project and the Lighthouse project.

Introductions were given by Dave Mercer from Newstead. Open Forum questions were held by Barbara Flynn-Southern. Barbara also asked residents what they would like to expect from the next resident involvement day. Responses included:

Advice to help with Move On.
Ideas around Training and employment

Hot Buffet

Everyone who attended the Residents Involvement Day was given a hot buffet courtesy of Amina Staff who did the cooking; chicken, rice, ribs and curries were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Karaoke

After the buffet everyone entered the lounge where residents and staff had a good old sing-a-long on the karaoke which was requested by the residents.

Raffle

The raffle was won by one of our lucky residents Mr Stanley Wynn Roberts. The prize was a Tower of Treats.

We would like to send a big thank you to Maureen Delve and Linda Clarke for organising the day, and especially a big thank you to Amina staff for the lovely hot buffet. All staff pulled together in making the day a big success. Also a big thank you to all the residents who attended.
