Refugee Action Week

I attended Adullam's refugee night to raise awareness of people of various nationalities who meet difficult choices in fleeing their own countries and the myths surrounded with the topic of asylum seekers.

I thoroughly enjoyed the evening as great effort was made by not only Adullam staff and floating support, but also the efforts made by the service users and various members of the community who attended.

There was plenty of things to get involved in and a fantastic variety of foods for everyone to share; a lady did henna tattoos for those who wanted to try something a little different which I was first to experiment and I was happy with the beautiful design done on my left hand with the henna dye. There were quizzes to fill out, boards up around the room with lots of information about refugees to educate us all about these people and also two ladies playing the drums as we all socialised together and did things we had never done before, along with tasting foods that we had never tried before.
