matt25

matt25 is a training and work experience programme designed especially for our residents and service users. Accredited by the Open College Network, the programme is designed for trainees to gain skills and knowledge with a view to working for Adullam and enjoying paid employment.

Once trainees have completed the training and work experience programme, they will be able to apply to become matt25 relief workers.

How to Apply

Ask your project manager when the next open day will be held and discuss your options with them.

Attend an open day and complete an application form.

When we receive your application you will be offered an interview.

The criteria for matt25 training is:

  • Little or no support needs apart from help with finding accommodation
  • Being ready for work experience
  • Currently receiving a service from Adullam, or have previously received services and are still actively involved with the Association
  • Being nominated by an Adullam employee

Training

Trainees will complete a 12 week programme which will include communication, team work and building a career portfolio.

Training is delivered by matt25 staff, who will support and mentor you throughout. The training is delivered 2 days a week and includes specific training on Adullam policies and procedures to prepare for the 6 month work experience.

Work Experience

Work experience takes place over 6 months. Initially this will be within Adullam services, although we hope to offer external work placements in conjunction with our partner organisations.

Presently, Adullam offers the following work experience placements: administration, project work and property services. Our aim is to expand these work placements both internally and externally, into catering, gardening, IT support and management.

If you have a particular interest in a line of work, we will do all we can to find a placement within your chosen area.

Completion of a work experience file evidences the work that has been done and benefits both trainees and potential employers alike.

Induction

On induction day, trainees are introduced to Adullam and its services to get an idea of what it would be like to work for the Association.

What happens at the end of the work experience?

Once trainees have successfully completed the training and work experience, we will discuss their options which include:

  • Applying for matt25 relief work and fill any immediate vacancies
  • Applying for any permanent vacancies that are currently being advertised
  • Applying for external vacancies

matt25 staff and managers will provide references as well as on going support with applications and interview skills and techniques to assist trainees to gain full time employment.

An extension to the work experience placement can be offered if the trainee does not feel ready for employment at the end of the 6 months.
